This is the most commonly used grinding process and is utilized in almost all grinding sectors to produce flat, planar surfaces. The wheels are used on ex-circular grinder and surface grinder. Good performance comes from right choice on abrasive grain, handness, structure and the right bonding technology.

Abrasive grains:

–Alunimum oxide (A, WA, PA, SA):  good for grinding various steels.CA surface grinding wheel-acute abrasives

Ceramic Abrasive grains (CA / SG):  They  are used  for  grinding  the  metal  materials  whose  surface  are  treated  by  specical  technology  and  the  materials  which  are  difficult  to  grind  by  common  alumina  grinding  wheels, such  as  alloy  tool  steel, high-speed  tool  steel, heat  resistant  steel, bearing  steel, stainless  steel, etc. 

–Green Silicon carbide (GC): best choice for grinding stainless steel.

– Black silicon carbide (C): best chocie for leather.

Grit size:

–  Arrange from 46# to 500#, for achieving different smoothness.

Hardness Grade:

— Usually the grades are varying from H. J. K, L to  M, for matching different type, hardness of the steels and grinding technical requirements. K & L grade of the grinding wheels can be chose for bigger finishing allowance, while M grade is better for smaller finishing allowance of the workpiece with fine accuracy. Grades H & J are usually for grinding those big, hard plates, or for creep grinding.

Structure:

–For softer steel, or smaller contact of the grinding, structure 5V, 6V and 7V are usually the right choice. Poros wheels with loose structure 10V, 11V, 12V & 13V are good for grinding of hard steel, big contact face, or sticky steel.
